Things You'll Need:

  • Dress Cloths
  • Something to offer
  1. Step 1

WHAT MAKES YOU DIFFERENT? As an employee of Menards I see hundreds of applicants looking to get employed by our company. Although 99% of them fail miserably when it comes to taking the proper steps to get hired. You need to bring something different to the table. Why would Menards hire you over someone else? If you can not answer that question then you are wasting your time attempting to get a job anywhere. If you do have something unique to offer, let the human resources coordinator know!

  2. Step 2

DRESS UP AND BE POLITE. What happened to the good old days when there was respect from people looking to get employed? I can tell you that if you dress up and personally get your application you have a 50 percent better chance at getting hired than anyone else. This is regardless of what is written on your application.

  3. Step 3

TALK TO THE HUMAN RESOURCES COORDINATOR. Show the company that you are bold enough to introduce yourself to the company. By doing this you let the human resources coordinator know who you are. So who are you exactly? Be able to tell her this. Dress up? Check. Talk to HR coordinator? Check.

  4. Step 4

STAY IN TOUCH. Do not be too pushy to begin with. Give the HR coordinator time to review your application. If he or she does not call back within 10 days, call back and thank them for talking with you. This will refresh the fact that you are a well spoken, polite person. If you follow these steps I can guarantee you will have SIGNIFICANTLY better odds at getting hired by Menards.

Tips & Warnings
  • Dress up, be polite, and talk to the HR Coordinator.
  • Don't be arrogant or pushy. They will throw your application away without even looking at it. First impressions mean EVERYTHING when applying for a job.
