Super Glue is a product that lives up to its name—it's tenacious and seemingly impossible to remove once it has bonded with plastic. If Super Glue accidentally winds up on your plastic lenses, follow this surefire technique for removing the stubborn adhesive.
Things You'll Need
- Nail polish remover
- Cotton swabs
- Paper towels
- Non-abrasive cleaning product
Dip a cotton swab in nail polish remover.
Daub the area affected by Super Glue with the cotton swab until the the adhesive begins to dissolve, being careful not to smear the glue onto unaffected parts of the lenses.
Blot off the glue and nail polish remover with paper towels, repeating Steps 1 through 3 as necessary to remove any remaining deposits of dried Super Glue.
Clean the plastic lenses with a non-abrasive cleaning product and wipe them dry with paper towels.
Tips & Warnings
- If Super Glue accidentally lands on your plastic lenses, don't try to rub off the adhesive since the glue will only smear and create a bigger mess.
