- Butter cookie or shortbread cookie dough
- Plastic wrap
- Wooden cookie molds
- Pastry brush
- Oil
- Paper towels
- Additional flour
- Cooking parchment

Step 1
Prepare a suitable cookie dough recipe. Choose a shortbread, cream-cheese butter cookie, or a springerle recipe for a good result with your wooden cookie molds.

Chill your cookie dough, covered with plastic wrap, for at least 1 hour before using your cookie mold.

Brush the mold with cooking oil before molding cookies. Use a paper towel to wipe away any excess oil. Flour the cookie mold thoroughly.

Press and pat dough into the cookie mold.

Place the mold onto a parchment-lined cookie sheet. Tap sharply on the mold to release the cookie. Bake as directed by the cookie recipe.
