Instructions

    • 1

Saturate a cotton ball with acetone nail polish remover.

    • 2

Gently rub the soaked cotton ball over the lens of your glasses. The acetone in the nail polish remover will break up the glue.

    • 3

Soak a second cotton ball and repeat the process to help dissolve thicker glue spots.

    • 4

Gently scrape at dissolving glue with your fingernail. You don't want to scratch hard, as you may permanently damage your lenses. A gentle scrape helps dislodge stubborn glue from the glass of your lenses.

    • 5

Soak your glasses in warm soapy water for 20 to 30 minutes, and then remove and inspect them. If there are any remaining glue spots, dry your glasses and reapply acetone nail polish remover to soften and dissolve them. Resoak glasses once all of the glue has been removed, then rinse and dry them with a gentle, lint-free cloth.

Tips & Warnings

  • Rinse glasses thoroughly before putting them on to avoid getting any acetone in or around your eyes.

  • Do not use any hard objects to scrape your glasses, as you could permanently damage your lenses.

  • Work with acetone in a well-ventilated area to avoid inhaling toxic fumes.
