How to Use My Kirby to Wash Rugs
The Kirby Sentria vacuum cleaner is well-known for being one of the best cleaners available. It is able to suck up particles that no other vacuum cleaner would come close to removing. Unplug the vacuum. You don't want to risk getting shocked.

Raise the nozzle to its highest setting. Do this by using the foot pedal on the left side of the vacuum.

Remove the nozzle. To do this, open the belt lifter on the front of the vacuum and rotate it counter-clockwise until the two arrows on the front match up. Next, release the lock on top of the nozzle, and it will be ready to be removed.

Remove the vacuum cleaner bag. Rotate counter-clockwise at its base on the vacuum's power station to do so.

Ready the carpet-cleaning nozzle. Pull the belt from the shampoo system and then attach it to the belt lifter of the now-removed nozzle. Rotate the belt lifter until it is secure and the two red arrows meet.

Reattach the nozzle. Place it on the hooks on the front of the vacuum and then lock it in place at the same place you unlocked it before. Rotate the belt lifter clockwise to reattach the nozzle completely.

Attach the cleaner tank. The tank should be filled with the proper amount of cleaning solution and water (a third full for small rooms, two-thirds full for medium rooms, completely full for large rooms) and ready to be attached. Hook the bottom of the tank onto where the vacuum cleaner bag previously was.

Hook up the tank and the tray. Use the small hose that came with the system, as the light end will connect to the tank, and the dark end will connect to the tray.

Lower the nozzle to its lowest setting.

Clean your rugs. Use it as you would use any other carpet cleaner--run it over your rugs and then let the rugs dry.

Tips & Warnings
Control the amount of suds from the cleaner by turning the knob on top of the tank. Counter-clockwise for more, clockwise for less.
