How to Decorate a Spiderman Themed Bedroom
-
1
Brainstorm about what kinds of accessories would fit a Spiderman themed room. Possible choices are red and blue fake spiders, Spiderman comic books and even a Spiderman costume that can be hung on the wall for effect. Don't forget red and blue accents.
-
2
Draw the layout of the room. If you opt for more complicated options like a wall mural or a Spiderman custom-made bed, be sure to devote separate thumbnail sketch sheets in your sketchbook to each.
-
-
3
Shop for the materials you need to complete the project.
-
4
Decide on one wall to paint Spiderman's colors. A deep red wall behind a child's desk or behind the bed are good choices. Don't forget, one wall will have a mural. If you opt for a mural, make sure it's on a wall that isn't obstructed by a lot of objects. The rest of the walls should stay white to avoid "Spiderman" overload.
-
5
Cover bed, desk and other objects or move them out of the room so they won't get damaged during the painting process.
-
6
Lay down the newspapers and then paint the wall red. Add black accents around the moldings. Let paint dry before hanging the mural.
-
7
Mix the wallpaper glue in the bucket according to the instructions on the package. Hang up the Spiderman mural. Make sure there are no bubbles under the mural. You can use the brushes to smooth out any wrinkles or bubbles.
-
8
Paint accessories such as the bed, the desk chair, shelves and the door frames while you wait for the mural glue or paint job to dry. Spiderman blue is a good choice for these. Move them back into place when dry.
-
9
Assemble the accessories to make the bed. A Spiderman themed bed complete with pillowcases, throw pillows and stuffed characters makes a great focal point to the room.
-
10
Hang the Spiderman costume on the closet door. It should look like it's there waiting for Spidey to get called on his next mission.
-
11
Put down the throw rugs, arrange any Spiderman action figures on the shelves, wall clocks, posters and then finally, hang the Spiderman curtains.

Tips & Warnings
If you are confident as a painter, you might try painting giant webs on the wall or across the bookshelves. Otherwise, many specialty shops offer web decals. Halloween or shortly thereafter is a good time to buy this accessory.
While this is a Spiderman themed room, there is such a thing as too much of a good thing. Take an honest look at the accessories. If there seems to be too much Spiderman and not enough room, take away a few accessories until the balance seems right.
