How to Remove Permanent Marker Stains From the Refrigerator

Permanent markers are great when you need a marker that won't wash away or wear off. It can be a different story when permanent marker gets on things it shouldn't, like the refrigerator. Using conventional methods such as soap and water won't get the job done. Although the name claims it is permanent, the ink used in most permanent markers can be removed easily, using one of the following methods.

Things You'll Need

• Cotton swabs
• Rubbing alcohol
• Toothpaste
• Paper towels
• Water
• Nail polish remover

Instructions

1. Saturate a cotton swab with rubbing alcohol and apply the swab directly to the marker stain. Rub in a vigorous circular motion for 30 seconds. Dry the area and repeat the action if some residue remains.

2. Dispense the amount of toothpaste used to brush teeth onto a folded paper towel. Rub the toothpaste vigorously and directly onto the marker stain for 30 seconds. After rubbing, rinse the area with hot water and dry the spot. If some residue remains, repeat.

3. Use nail polish remover to rid the refrigerator of any permanent marker stain. Saturate a cotton swab with nail polish remover. Apply the swab to the area and scrub for 30 seconds. Use a dry paper towel to wipe away any residue. If a stain remains, repeat.
