How to Remove Paint From Porcelain Bathtubs
Painting a bathroom takes planning and preparation. Taping off items such as the sink, toilet, counter and bathtub are necessary to prevent paint from getting onto them. However, accidents do happen and paint doesn't always stay where it should. Wet or dry paint can be removed from porcelain with a few items that can be purchased from a local hardware and home improvement stores. Does this Spark an idea?

Moisten a soft cloth with turpentine (paint thinner).

Test the turpentine on a hidden area of the porcelain bathtub to ensure that the porcelain doesn't become damaged from the chemicals in the turpentine.

Rub moistened cloth on the porcelain to remove the paint. Continue to apply more turpentine to the cloth and rub the porcelain until the paint is completely removed.

Wash away the residue from the turpentine with a solution made of 1 cup of trisodium phosphate and 1 gallon of warm water. Trisidium phosphate can be purchased from most hardware stores.

Tips & Warnings
If the paint is fresh (still wet), remove it with a cloth dampened with warm water and dishwashing liquid. Use a soft-bristled brush to remove the rest of the paint.
