Instructions

  1. Unfinished Wood Paneling

    • 1

Use a lint-free cloth to remove dust and debris from the wood paneling.

    • 2

Dampen the cloth with water and gently run it over the paneling. Squeeze as much water as possible out of the cloth to prevent over-wetting the wood, which can lead to warping.

    • 3

Mix 1/4 cup of dish detergent with one tablespoon of vegetable oil and one quart of water in a bucket to create a homemade wood polish.

    • 4

Use a clean, dry lint-free cloth to gently rub a small amount of the polish onto the wood.

    • 5

Use a second clean, dry lint-free cloth to buff away the polish and give the wood panels a nice sheen.

    Finished Wood Paneling

    • 6

Use a dry lint-free cloth to remove dust and debris from the wood paneling.

    • 7

Mix 1/4 cup of dish detergent with one tablespoon of vegetable oil and one quart of water in a bucket.

    • 8

Dampen a sponge with the oil mixture and gently scrub the paneling using a circular motion. Squeeze the sponge out in a spare bucket as it becomes soiled.

    • 9

Use a clean lint-free cloth to dry and buff the wood. Buff along the grain of the wood for best results.

Tips & Warnings

  • Do not leave the oil solution on the wood paneling for longer than one to two minutes to avoid causing damage.
