How to Get the Smell of Dog Urine Out of My Wood Floors
Dogs tend to have accidents when they are being potty trained. It is also possible for them to urinate if they get very excited or very scared. If this is done on your hardwood floors, you will want to get the floors clean and smelling fresh again. Dog urine can leave odors in hardwood floors even if you catch the dog urinating and clean it up right away.

Set a towel over the puddle of urine if it is fresh. Step on the towel to soak up the urine. Just make sure you are wearing gloves. If there is no puddle, skip to Step 2.

Wet the urine area if you came across it when it was already dry. You can do this with an empty spray bottle. Just fill the bottle with water and mist the area where your dog peed. If the area is already wet from Step 1, you can skip this step and go to Step 3.

Sprinkle baking soda or a dry powder urine remover, such as UrineOut, over the wet area. These products are known for their ability to remove strong odors. Let them dry over the wet area.

Use your vacuum to suck up the dried powder. If you would rather use a dust pan and broom, you can do that. The urine and the smell will have been absorbed in to the powder. When you throw the powder away, you throw the smell away.

Wash your hardwood floors as you normally would.

Tips & Warnings
Use a baking soda-based laundry detergent when washing towels soaked in dog urine. If you don't have any, add half a cup of vinegar to the wash.
You can't get the urine smell out if you are unsure as to where the dog peed. A simple black light will illuminate the areas on your hardwood floor that your dog had an accident on.
