1
Clean the surface of your laminate vanity thoroughly with a mild all purpose cleaner. Grease left on the vanity surface will interfere with the primer and may cause bubbling.
-
2
Sand the vanity in a circular motion. Creating a rough texture will allow the primer to fully adhere to the counter top and prevent scratches and water damage later.
-
-
3
Wipe off the counters with a damp rag to remove all dust and debris left during sanding.
-
4
Cut in primer at edges using a trim brush. Use a foam roller to apply a thin coat of primer to the vanity. Allow primer to dry and apply a second coat.
-
5
Paint laminate top with latex paint using a clean foam roller. Two or three thin coats will be more durable than one thick coat. Allow paint to dry completely between applications.
-
6
Apply a semi- or high-gloss acrylic topcoat. Flat or matte finishes are less durable and won't hold up to spills and scratches as well as a shinier topcoat.

Tips & Warnings
Handle your new vanity gently for the first few weeks. Acrylic takes two to three weeks to fully cure. Always avoid using harsh chemicals on your refinished counter top.
