How to Remove Black Spots From Fiberglass RV Roof

Black spots often develop on RV roofs. They come from age and neglect but mainly result from moisture or high levels of air pollution. So if the moisture content is high and you have lots of dirty air, expect black streaks. Keep in mind that if you live in the city or on a farm, you are more likely to get black spots on your fiberglass RV roof.

Things You'll Need

• RV cover
• Soap
• Water source
• Gutters
• Broom

Instructions

1. Apply gutters on your RV. This will prevent spots from appearing on the fiberglass roof by capturing excess moisture.

2. Place an RV cover over the RV when it sits for an extended period of time. This will protect it from precipitation and pollution, ultimately preventing black streaks or spots.

3. Sweep the roof often. Wait for the area to be completely dry, and use a soft-bristle broom and dust pan, and bag it up right away so it doesn't get pushed down the side of the RV.

4. Wash your RV every other month with non-petroleum based soap, and wax it, too.

5. Check your RV often for black spots and streaks and maintain the roof. Regular maintenance will help to keep black spots under control, but nothing will completely stop them.
