There is a long off season for snowboarders. You can easily get out of the grove by being away from the snow for such an extended period of time. The good thing is there are many different things you can do to prepare for the next winter season before it arrives.

Difficulty: Moderate
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Snowboard
  • Gear
  1. Step 1

Exercise to stay in shape. This, I think, is not only the best, but most important step to prepare for snowboarding season. Focus on workouts that challenge your core muscles. This is where all of your strength comes when your riding. A great workout that will target your core and legs is the squat. It may be beneficial to also work on your cardio. Try jogging or biking for 30 minutes three times a week, this will build your endurance.

  2. Step 2

Gather all equipment. Dig out everything; snowboard, boots, jacket, snow pants, under layers, socks, hat, gloves, sweatshirt, goggles, helmet, and anything else you will need on the slopes. Make sure everything still fits comfortably.

  3. Step 3

Tune up your snowboard. If you don't know how to wax and sharpen your board yourself, take it to any snowboard or ski shop to have it done. They will sharpen the edges and wax the bottom to insure the board rides at peak performance.

  4. Step 4

Plan out your winter. You always want to explore different mountains, that's the fun of snowboarding. Search the internet for different mountains around your area. Schedule different days to go to different mountains. This will improve your riding by adventuring into new terrain.
