A raining cats and dogs costume is a easy homemade costume that can be made in minutes with stuff you already have in the closet. A raining cats and dogs costume can be made several ways for kids as well as adults.

Step 1

Find the stuff animails you wish to use. Bean bags as well as the small stuffed animails work great but they may be a little heavy for little hands to hold. You can also use poster board to cut out shapes of dogs and cats, then attach them with a string.
Step 2

Find a umbrella. I suggest making use of a torn up one so you can be creative on how the animails are placed. However a good umbrella can be used and not torn up if you use tape or sew on the animal. Using hot glue to put on the animails may leave marks on the umbrella.

Tips & Warnings

This costume is not recommended for small children that can not properly hold a umbrella.
If you are going to be inside and do not feel like holding up a umbrella you could also use a rain hat and pin up a dog and cat on the hat.
