How to Safely Seat Children in Cars

Always follow rules and guidelines for your state safety laws. This will not only keep you out of a ticket but it could also save your childs life.

Instructions
  1. Step 1

    When your child is an infant place them in a rear facing infant seat in the back seat of the vehicle. They should sit like this from birth to 1 year old and at least 20 pounds.

  2. Step 2

    When your child becomes a toddler they should sit in a forward facing toddler seat in the back seat of a vehicle. You should use this seat from age 1 to 3 and with them weighing more than 20 pounds.

  3. Step 3

    From the ages of 4 to 8 and being less than 4'9'' tall they should ride in a booster seat located in the backseat of the vehicle.

  4. Step 4

    When your child reaches the age of nine and are taller than 4'9'' then they can start wearing only a seatbelt.

  5. Step 5

    All kids should ride in the back seat until the ages of 12 to 13 for there safety.

  6. Step 6

    Never let a child sit in front of an airbag.
