Step 1
Exercise at least 30 minutes a day for at least 5 days a week. Walking and jogging are both great exercises to do during these times for your heart.

Dont eat more calories than what you need on a daily bases.

Trade up sweets, crackers and snacks for fruits, vegetables and yogurts.

Eat 6 or more servings of fruit and vegetables a day.

Cut down on sodium. Check all food labels before you buy them. Keep sodium below 2400 mg a day.

Avoid all foods that are high in trans fat. Once again check the labels.

Use whole wheat bread instead of white bread.

Avoid alcohol. If your the type who just cant seem to avoid it then try to at least cut it down to 1 drink a day.

Trade up fat calorie with whole grains, fruits and vegetables.
