Step 1
Before apply for a nursing grant you must get a PIN number at www.pin.ed.gov. Each grant application will ask for this pin so they can track your personal information through the Department of Education.
-
Step 2
Go ahead and apply for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) at www.fafsa.ed.gov. Yes you may already know you do not qualify but most if not all grans for nurses will require applicants to show they applied. This is because funders only have so many grants to award that they want applicants to seek other funding as well when available.

Step 3
Contact the financial aid department of the school you wish to attend. They will have a list have grants and scholarships available to their students as well as school funded grant programs. Work with your financial aid counselor to get the most of the funds available. Make sure you also get information on grants you can apply for that will help pay back nursing school tuition after you graduate.
