For each of my thematic units in my Kindergarten class I like to make a worksheet that combines our vocabulary words for the unit with math assignments. For the Computer Unit, I will make a Bingo game comprised of items such as an iPod, printer, digital camera, scanner, mouse and flash drive that include pictures of the items on one side and the written vocabulary words on the other. I will also make language arts assignments with these vocabulary words. Here is how to do computer math.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Make a worksheet with the computer vocabulary words written down the left side of the paper with a blank short line right after each word (this is where the kids will fill in the number of those items to the right) and a random number of that item to the right of it.

  2. Step 2

Have the kids color in each item before they count them.

  3. Step 3

Have the kids count the items.

  4. Step 4

Have the kids fill in the blank line with the number of those items. I never have it exceed 10 in this simple version.

  5. Step 5

Create a similar sheet, but with the words mixed up so that the items are not directly right of the corresponding word. This forces them to find the correct word and then count the items separately.

  6. Step 6

Create another worksheet with all the pictures completely mixed up all over the worksheet with the same list on the left.

  7. Step 7

Make sure the kids are coloring the pictures before they write the number in.
