ADHD is challenging obstacle for any individual, but for boys it is even more so. The fact is even today many people shrug off ADHD as nothing more than boys being lazy or behaving badly. The fact is, many boys are inflicted with this disease and overcoming ADHD is very challenging for both children and parents.

Difficulty: Moderately Challenging
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Begin by going over the boy's diet. Many food can create concentration problems in the normal boy, but in an ADHD child, these effects are compounded. Begin by cutting down or eliminating sugars and caffeine. This two products are major contributors in obstructing concentration. Also, many preservatives in food can cause attention deficit disorder to be amplified.

  2. Step 2

Create a concentration building regiment. This can be done by simply lighting a candle and having the child stare at the flame. This helps the brain build the power to focus on a single thing for a long period of time. Also, play card games or board games. Play something that forces the boy to sit and think.

  3. Step 3

Eliminate the hyperactive television shows. Television is often seen as a major problem, but the fact is there are shows out there that can help the attention deficit child settle in and relax. The problem comes with the high activity, extreme noise shows, turn them off.

  4. Step 4

Turn off all stimulation around the house. Sit in complete silence and let the boy soak in the environment around him. Talk about what they hear or see around the house. This will reduce artificial stimulation and increase the senses.
