Many people collect paperback books over the years and then find their house inundated with them. To turn those old novels into cash, considering selling your paperback books at a flea market.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Paperback books
  • Cardboard box tops
  • Wooden paint stirrers or similar
  • Black marker
  • Staple gun and staples
  • Lightweight cardboard
  1. Step 1

Set a price for the paperback books in your collection. In most cases, flea market vendors sell paperback novels for 25 cents each. Adding an incentive of five books for one dollar is a way to shift more books more quickly. These may seem like very low prices, but they are standard for mass market paperbacks.

  2. Step 2

Write the price prominently on a piece of lightweight cardboard with a thick marker. If you have multiple price ranges, make multiple signs. Larger or non-fiction paperback books may be sold at higher prices than normal novels, especially romance novels. Since romance novels are so numerous on the market, you might like to price them even lower.

  3. Step 3

Staple each sign to a wooden paint stirrer or a similar piece of wood. These thin slats are perfect for tucking between boxes or rows of book on the flea market table. Store them with the group of paperback books in that same price range.

  4. Step 4

Lay paperback books with their spines up and all facing the same direction. Use cardboard box lids or cut down boxes to display them neatly in rows. Grouping same genres and author names together will help interested shoppers find more books they want to purchase.

  5. Step 5

Display specialty books near the front of the flea market table. These could be over-sized, non-fiction or graphic novels that people may be more interested in than the normal paperback novels. These eye-catching books can reel in customers more quickly than rows and rows and paperbacks on a table.
