Step 1
If the mineral build on the shower head is relatively small, you can use white vinegar and a plastic bag. I've found that a large freezer bag works well for this. Fill the bag about half full with vinegar. Submerge the shower head into the vinegar. Use a rubber band, zip tie or rope to secure the bag to the shower head. Let sit for at least 5 hours, or over night. Remove bag of vinegar and let the shower run for a few minutes to remove all access mineral build up.

Step 2
If the vinegar doesn't seem to work, you will have to remove the shower head. Use a pipe wrench and some type of cloth or fabric between the teeth of the wrench to protect shower head while removing it. Pour a commercial cleaning agents, like CRL or Lime Away into a bowl. Let the head soak over night.

Step 3
In the morning, remove the shower head from the commercial cleaning agent and submerge into warm water. Thoroughly rinse all the residue from the mineral deposits off. Reinstall the shower head and enjoy the free flowing water.
