Instructions

    • 1

Allow your sponge to soak up water, and wring it out. You want a moist sponge for the soapstone cleaning.

    • 2

Squeeze some dish soap directly onto the oil spots on the soapstone. The soapstone is immune to kitchen cleaners, so cleaning products that contain acid are not going to harm it.

    • 3

Rub the soapy soapstone with your sponge. Rub thoroughly over the oil spots, and the sponge and soap should easily remove the oil.

    • 4

Rinse, and dry the soapstone with a clean rag.

    • 5

Pour some mineral oil onto a rag and wipe down the soapstone. This is going to refinish the soapstone and put back any shine the cleaning process may have removed.
