1
Decide which room your decorative plate(s) should be in. The decorative plate can range from regular dinner plates to large decorative plates for the wall. You can also arrange the plates in a design or pattern. Use a color scheme that you feel best fits the room.

2
Purchase an eye-catching decorative fabric. The more unusual the fabric is the more it will enhance the look of a room. Purchase a few inches more of fabric than what you think you need for the plate. This allows for slight errors.

3
Look for plate holders if the fabric plate will sit on a surface such as a table. Brackets will be needed to secure a decorative fabric plate to the wall. Get an accurate weight and measurement of the wall plate to find the right bracket size.
-
4
Iron the fabric to remove wrinkles and creases. Lay the fabric on a clean, hard surface or put a clean sheet underneath. Set the iron to the appropriate temperature to prevent burning.
-
5
Wrap the fabric around the plate, starting in the front and folding toward the center of the back of the plate. If you are putting the plate on a plate holder, slide the extra fabric down to the bottom where it will not show. Use a glue gun to glue the fabric together in the back of the plate.
-
6
Put the plate on a wall using two brackets and a picture hanger. Use the measurement of the plate to measure how wide the brackets need to sit apart. Make a triangle effect and nail the picture hanger at the point in between the two brackets.

Tips & Warnings
Decorative fabric plates can be used for holidays and festivities. Just choose a holiday theme or color.
For large fabric plates, make sure the plate is well secured to the wall. The brackets need to hold the weight and the screws need to be tight in the brackets.
