Instructions

    • 1

Cut or tear paper napkins into desired shapes. If you are going to use the entire picture on the napkin for your craft piece, skip this step.

    • 2

Dip paint brush into your decoupage medium and paint the medium directly onto your canvas. Apply a thin layer.

    • 3

Arrange your napkin pieces (or the entire napkin) on the canvas.

    • 4

Smooth out any wrinkles with your fingers. Start at the center of the paper napkin and, using your fingertips, brush the wrinkles to the side. You must be very gentle as the paper napkin can easily rip.

    • 5

Dip your paint brush into the decoupage medium and apply directly to the paper napkin. Use soft strokes, so that you do not tear the napkin.

    • 6

      Allow the napkin to dry.

    • 7

Apply more decoupage medium to the napkin once the previous application has dried completely. Continue adding decoupage medium (always after the previous application has dried) until you are happy with the look of your craft project.

Tips & Warnings

  • Decoupage medium comes in a matte or shiny finish.

  • Paper napkins tear easily, so work slowly and carefully.
