A Shop-Vac, also known as a wet dry vac, is a great vacuum to have in a workshop or garage. The Shop-Vac is perfect for cleaning up both dirt and water. If you have a small leak in the house or someone has spilled a gallon of water, use the Shop-Vac to clean up the mess quickly and easily.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Shop Vac
  1. Step 1

Plug the Shop-Vac into the wall. These vacuums do not always have the longest power cord, so you may need an extension cord.

  2. Step 2

Power on the Shop-Vac. Like most other vacuums, the Shop-Vac is going to be loud.

  3. Step 3

Use the hose of the Shop-Vac to suck up all the water on the floor. Depending on the size of your Shop-Vac, you can soak up several gallons of water and liquid.

  4. Step 4

Power down the Shop-Vac, unplug it and roll it to an area where there is a sink or toilet. Remove the lid of the Shop-Vac. Depending on what size or model Shop-Vac you have, there may be a release button on the side or you just press down and twist the top lid. Lift up and pour the contents of the Shop-Vac down the drain or outside.
