Save

The Shark steam cleaner is a portable, hand held cleaning unit that uses heat and steam. The attachments that come with the steam unit can be used to clean a wide range of surfaces and are appropriate for different applications such as flat surfaces, nook and niches, garments, thin and narrow spaces, and surfaces that need scrubbing.

Things You'll Need

  • Distilled water
  • Soft, lint-free cloth

Filling

  • Unplug the steam bottle.

  • Grasp the water tank cap, then turn it counter clockwise until it is unscrewed from the bottle. Remove the cap.

  • Pour distilled water into the filling flask that came with the steam cleaner. Pour water from the flask into the water tank until the water level reaches the filled mark.

  • Screw the water tank cap clockwise into the bottle until it is seated.

Using the Steam Cleaner

  • Affix the desired cleaning attachment to the steam bottle nozzle by lining up the arrow on the attachment with the "Unlock" symbol on the bottle. Press in on the attachment, then turn it clockwise to secure it on the nozzle.

  • Plug the steam bottle in, then observe the blue light which indicates your steam bottle is heating up. Wait about 45 seconds, then press and hold the steam trigger until you hear and see steam from the attachment.

  • Hold the attachment near the item to be cleaned, then aim the nozzle and press the trigger.

  • Move the steam bottle with slow, constant motion while steam is being dispensed to avoid overheating the item being cleaned.

  • Release the trigger and hold the steam bottle away, then wipe the surface of the item being cleaned with a soft, lint-free cloth to remove remaining soil.

Tips & Warnings

  • Do not use cleaning solutions, perfumes or oils to the water.
  • Do not use on porous surfaces or untreated wood.
  • Do not use on surfaces that cannot withstand heat and moisture.
  • Use the steam cleaner only on surfaces that are colorfast.
  • Steam dispensed from the steam bottle is very hot especially closest to the nozzle. Take care to avoid scalding injuries from the steam.
