Miniblinds are a common window treatment and come in a variety of materials and styles. Like anything else in the home, miniblinds collect dust and need to be cleaned frequently. Cleaning miniblinds can be difficult because of the small surface areas, and wood blinds are no exception. Knowing how to clean wood miniblinds properly can help prevent damage and ensure that all dust and allergens are removed.

Use a vacuum cleaner with a brush attachment to remove dust from the blinds.

  3. Step 3

Adjust the blinds so the opposite side of the slats is facing you, and vacuum again.

  4. Step 4

Spray furniture polish onto a clean towel; never spray directly onto the blinds.

  6. Step 6

Adjust the blinds so the opposite side of the slats is facing you.

  7. Step 7

Wipe the blinds with the towel, using additional furniture polish if necessary.

Tips & Warnings
  • Run a dryer sheet along the slats of the blinds after they have been cleaned to help prevent dust from building up.
