Ants can be a nuisance but there are simple ways of getting rid of these uninvited guests. A mix of soap with water is a non-toxic method that can eliminate the use of dangerous chemicals. Soapy water can be used indoors as well as outdoors.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Spray bottle
  • Warm water
  • Soap
  • Paper towel or disposable cloth
  1. Step 1

Pour warm water into a spray bottle. Some bottles are labeled in ounces and milliliters so you can measure liquids adequately.

  2. Step 2

Add equal parts of liquid soap to the water. Alternately, a small bar of soap can be used.

  3. Step 3

Shake the bottle to mix the solution.

  4. Step 4

Spray the soapy water onto the ants. Spraying the solution directly onto ants will drown them on contact.

  5. Step 5

Clean the area with a paper towel or a disposable cloth and dispose of it. Wiping the area with soapy water will remove the scent of the ants' trail, avoiding future infestations.
