How to Melt Beeswax With Honey

Beeswax and honey are popular ingredients in soap and beauty products. Beeswax is a fragrant wax that comes from the honeycomb of the honey bee and is used in cosmetics as an emulsifier to bind ingredients together. Instructions

      Melt beeswax by placing it in a double boiler on medium low heat. A double boiler is simply a pot placed on top of another pot with boiling water in it, over a heat source.

      Remove the double boiler from its heat source once the beeswax has turned into a liquid.

      Slowly pour the honey into the melted beeswax and gently mix them together with a spoon or wire whisk. Stir until honey is melted completely.

      Pour the mixture into containers and let it cool. The beeswax and honey mixture will thicken as it cools.

  • Melting one teaspoon of beeswax along with one teaspoon of honey will create a homemade lip balm that will help to protect the lips during all seasons.

  • Using unpasteurized honey in products intended for infants can be hazardous; make sure to use only pasteurized honey when creating products for babies.
