How to Treat a Burn on the Top of the Foot
Burn injuries are common household and work accidents that should not be taken lightly. A burn on the top of your foot is particularly troublesome because walking and moving around will interfere with the healing process. Although many burns are minor injuries that only require a little first aid, you should have a medical professional take a look at it. Follow certain steps to treat a burn on the top of your foot at home before you seek medical treatment.

1
Flush the burned area with cool, running water. Applying a cool compress to the burned area can relieve the warmth or the pain from the foot burn.

2
Keep the burned area moisturized with lotion or aloe vera gel. Cover the burned area with a sterile bandage. Try not to walk on the foot that has been burned. You need to avoid pressure and irritation on the foot burn.

Tips & Warnings
There are three types of burns. First-degree burns are the least serious and only affect the top layer of your skin. Second-degree burns affect two layers of skin and usually are accompanied by burn blisters. Third degree burns affect several layers of skin as well as the structures below skin. The skin looks black and charred with a third degree burn.
Do not put butter or ice on a burn. Either one can cause further damage or infection. If any burn blisters occur, do not burst them. They will burst on their own.
