Poached eggs can require a lot of work and cleanup when cooked on the stove top. Knowing how to use a microwave poacher like the Nordic Ware Egg Poacher is a nice, easy alternative for poaching eggs.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • cooking spray
  • Nordic Ware Egg Poacher
  • eggs
  1. Step 1

Spray each well of poacher lightly with cooking spray. Crack one egg into each well of the egg poacher. The Nordic Ware comes in both a 2 egg and 4 egg version.

  2. Step 2

Sprinkle 1/4 teaspoon water over each egg if you wish to steam the egg a little. You do not have to add water if you don't like this effect.

  3. Step 3

Pierce each yolk gently with the end of a pointy toothpick. This is important to keep the eggs from exploding inside the microwave. Close lid and put the poacher into the center of microwave.

  4. Step 4

Cook for 30 to 40 seconds. Time varies depending on the wattage of your microwave. You will need to experiment to find the right amount of time for your poached egg preference.

  5. Step 5

Wash poacher with warm, soapy water after each use. Allow to air dry.
