Dust a lacquered brass bed with a camel hair brush or soft cloth to keep free from dust, according to Bernard's, on a regular basis.

Dampen a soft cloth and wipe off the headboard and footboard. Water won't damage the protective lacquer coating.

Dust an unlaquered brass bed as needed to care for it and keep it clean.

Clean tarnish off with tomato ketchup and a cloth. Place a dollop of ketchup onto a dry rag, according to Group Recipes.

Rub the tomato ketchup over the tarnished areas on the brass bed until the tarnish lifts. Wipe off the remaining ketchup with a clean rag and buff the brass to a shine.
