Things for Kids to Do at Holiday Parties
-
1
Set up a station in the kitchen where the kids can roll out sugar cookie dough and use cookie cutters to make holiday cookies. After they are baked, have the kids decorate the cookies to present to the other adults at the party. If everyone is dressed up, think of having aprons or old shirts available for them to wear to protect their clothing. Make a big deal out of the presentation of cookies.

Set up two small tables or TV trays against one wall with small boxes, wrapping paper, scissors and tape. Divide the children into two teams and put them against the opposite wall. On "go," one child from each team runs to the opposite end of the room and gift wraps a box. Once the gift is wrapped, the child runs back and tags the next member of the team. The team that finishes first wins. If you have young children, consider pre-cutting the paper so they do not need scissors.

Cut the sheets of card stock in half. Give one piece to each child and ask them to make a holiday card using markers, crayons, scissors and glue. The card can follow the theme of the party, i.e. Christmas, Hanukah, etc. When they finish, have each child explain their card.
