Bats thrive in wooded areas, making cottages and cabins especially prone to bat habitation. A bat's primary source of food is mosquitoes. This means that any property in close proximity to water, where mosquitoes gather, is also vulnerable. Some will find that they enjoy having bats around to control the mosquito population. For those who want to get rid of the bats living around their cottage or cabin, there are simple and effective ways to chase the bats elsewhere. Does this Spark an idea?

1
Spray cat or dog repellent on the surfaces of the area where the bats are living. Do this when the bats are all out gathering food, because it is dangerous to spray the repellent directly onto a bat.
-
2
Place a handful of moth balls onto a square of cheesecloth. Bring the corners of the cheesecloth together and tie to create a small sack. Tie the sack and hang it in the area where the bats are living.
