How to Remove a Mold Stain from Vinyl

Things You'll Need
- Kitchen gloves
- Mold/Mildew cleaner
- Sponge
- Scrub brush
- Garden hose
- Dirt eraser

Wet your sponge with water and apply your choice of mold/mildew cleaner to the surface of the sponge. Cleaners with mild abrasives help break down particles of mold and work well while scrubbing at the surface.

Scrub the mold stain gently with the sponge coated in cleaner. Use circular scrubbing motions.

Rinse away cleaner with water. If the mold still has not been washed away, apply cleaner directly to the mold stain and scrub vigorously with a scrub brush.

Spray the vinyl clean with the high powered nozzle on your garden hose.

Remove any remaining mold stains with a melamine foam dirt eraser. Dry the surface with a paper towel and rub the dirt eraser over the surface.

Tips & Warnings
Natural citrus cleaners containing lemon juice, and even straight lemon juice mixed with baking soda, are also effective when it comes to bleaching stubborn mold stains.
Be sure to take precautions when working with harsh chemicals. Some chemicals may create noxious fumes that, if inhaled, can create lung damage. Work in an open area with plenty of air flow and protect your skin with rubber gloves.
