How to Use a Fiberglass Color Restorer

Fiberglass is used as the siding for a variety of products, including boats and pools. Over time, if the fiberglass product is left outside, you may find the natural colors fading away. However, this natural color change is not something you must accept. You can actually reverse the faded color with a fiberglass color restorer product. It can help return your fiberglass product back to its original color and luster.

Things You'll Need

• Fiberglass color restorer
• Rag

Instructions

1. Apply the fiberglass color restorer to a dry rag. You can either pour the color restorer directly onto the rag or pour it into a bucket and dip the rag in. Purchase a fiberglass color restorer at most home improvement stores or any boating goods store.

2. Place the rag onto the fiberglass and polish the material in a circular motion. A rag full of fiberglass color restorer is only going to cover a small amount of surface area, so reapply the color restorer throughout your polishing.

3. Apply the fiberglass color restorer to the entire area of the fiberglass. Missing spots can result in off-coloration.

4. Allow the fiberglass color restorer to dry in the sun.

5. Take a dry cloth and polish over the fiberglass to help bring out the original color of the fiberglass product.
