How to Combine Two Tablecloths for a Large Table
While there are many shops online and in your local community that will custom make tablecloths to fit whatever size table you have, you can reduce the costs of dressing your table by combining two tablecloths to cover the dining area. Buy two square tablecloths of the same color. Place one tablecloth on the table so that it covers exactly half the table.

Overlap the center of the first tablecloth slightly with the second tablecloth, and spread the cloth out so that it hangs over the other half of the table.

Get a lace table cover and spread it out on the table so that it is centered. The lace table cover can either cover the entire table, or it can be the same size as the other table covers, but it should be centered, if the latter is the case.

Use a centerpiece to complete the look. The centerpiece also serves to hold the two tablecloths in place.

Take the first tablecloth and place it on the table so that one of the ends point toward the other end of the table, and center that end on the table. It may be necessary to push the end of the cloth that is in the center of the table further up the table because of the weight of the cloth that drapes over the sides.

Use the second tablecloth and repeat Step 1, this time overlapping the end of the cloth over the first centered end. Both cloths should now drape over the table with a wave of tablecloth end points hanging down.

Place a centerpiece at the point on the table where the two cloths meet to hold them in place.

Drape a lace cover over the two cloths, rather than using the centerpiece, with the lace cover placed on the table so that one end points toward the head of the table and another end points toward the opposite head and the other two ends drape over the sides. You will have a flow of draping ends over all sides of the table when finished.

Tips & Warnings
This type of draping for tablecloths works for all table shapes. You will simply need to adjust how you place the cloths on the table for the particular shape of your table. Instead of lace, you can add a third tablecloth in the same or a complementary color.
