If you have young daughters, you know how often they get bored of their hair accessories and want new ones. Using some simple tricks, you can transform boring hair accessories into really pretty ones.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Plain snap clips; Ponytail hair elastics; Bobby pins; Hair bands; Buttons; Rhinestones/Gems; Beads; Felt fabric; Charms; Silk ribbon; Jump rings; Scissors; Needle and thread; Hot glue gun
  1. Step 1

    - Plain snap clips:
    - Open the clip and glue beads to the top of the snap clip. Let the glue dry and only then, allow your daughter to use the clip. We don't want her hair getting glued to the clip!

    - If you want clips that sparkle, glue pretty rhinestones/gems to the snap clip.

    - To make unique looking snap clips, you could stick buttons to it. You can make some funky looking hair clips this way.

  2. Step 2

    Ponytail hair elastics:
    - You can use jumper rings to attach charms and beads to plain hair elastics.

    - If you want the hair elastic to sport a bow, tie a bow using silk ribbon. Then sew this bow to the hair elastic, using a needle and thread.

    - You can also cut out various shapes from felt and then, sew it onto the plain hair elastics. Stick gems to the shapes that have been cut out, to add a little sparkle. Now there's a reason to use that comb!

  3. Step 3

    Bobby pins:
    - Using a needle and thread, sew a fancy button on the bobby pins.

    - Use jumper rings to attach beads to the bobby pin.

    - Make a silk ribbon bow/use a ready made bow and then, insert/sew the bow to the bobby pin.

  4. Step 4

    Hair bands:
    - Buttons can come in handy here too. Using glue, stick pretty buttons on the top of the hair band.

    - Stick gem stones/rhinestones to the top of the headband. This will go with any party dress.

    - Glue silk ribbon over the top of the headband to give it a classy look.
