How to Lose Pounds in 2 Weeks. Losing weight is hard and sometimes if we don't lose weight within the first couple weeks of our new diets, we tend to lose motivation and heart. Here is my guide to actually losing 10 pounds in 2 weeks with no exercise using the Atkins Diet. (See the resources section below for some great deals on Atkins food!)

  • First, to lose pounds you're going to have to make a commitment to yourself to lose pounds in 2 weeks. With this plan you can lose 10 pounds in 2 weeks! But, it's not going to work unless you are fully committed. That means no "little bites" or "tastes" of anything that is not part of the diet. You can do this for two weeks! After those two weeks you'll be so impressed and motivated with your weight loss, you'll want to keep going!

  • Next, you're going to go grocery shopping for the food you're going to be eating for the next two weeks. I suggest buying everything all at once, if you have to go back to the grocery store, temptation might overtake you. So you'll have to sit down and plan out what you'll be eating for every meal and snack for the next two weeks before going to the store. Sit down and make a grid for each of the 14 days you'll be on this diet.

  • Now, what are you going to plan to eat to lose weight? First, I recommend that you buy and read "Dr. Atkins New Diet Revolution", but you probably want to start this diet right away, so put the book on your grocery list too and you can read it throughout the weeks. You're going to be eating lean proteins (fish (salmon and halibut are good options), chicken, turkey, eggs, cheese, steak without sugary steak sauce is fine in moderation) and low carb vegetables (lettuce, broccoli, cauliflower, artichoke, celery, cucumber, bell peppers and a few others). I suggest loading up each of your meals with lots of vegetables and lean protein. The protein will keep you from feeling hungry. The beauty of the Atkins Diet is that you never have to starve yourself to lose weight. As long as you are eating the recommended foods, you can have as much as you want!

  • Now, to lose weight a typical day's meal will look like this: scrambled eggs for breakfast (or an omelet with veggies), chicken salad with cheese and a vinegar based dressing (NO ranch, Caesar, etc, these are LOADED with carbs and calories!), grilled or baked salmon, veggies and salad for dinner. For snacks, cucumber or celery slices are easily prepared beforehand. Be careful! If you allow yourself to get hungry, your resolve will weaken and you will give into temptation. On the Atkins Diet, to lose weight you can NOT have "just one" potato chip or "just one" piece of chocolate. It doesn't work that way. By eating the proteins and veggies, you are converting your body from burning all the carbs and sugars you've been eating to now burning all the fat you're storing on your body to lose weight. If you cheat, even just once, it will throw off your whole two week weight loss Plan! Believe me, you'll be craving carbs around day 2 or 3, but by days 4-5, you'll be absolutely fine! The cravings just mean you're doing something right because your body will be telling you to give it carbs! Don't give into temptation, you want to lose weight!

  • Now, some things you will NOT be eating to lose weight: any dairy, "sugar free" candy, bread, fruits, noodles, rice, cereal, cookies, candy bars, ranch dressing, caesar dressing, carrots or corn (both of these, although vegetables, have high natural sugar contents). Remember, even sugar free items have sugar in them. I suggest eating all non-packaged food that you don't have to unwrap. Always look at a label if you decide to do otherwise. You are aiming for 20 grams of carbs or less per day for the first two weeks to lose weight. Good luck and happy weight loss!
