Step 1
First, as always, you must read and understand Jagex's rules. They are trying to make the game a safe environment for everyone. There is no age limit on this game and players can be anywhere from 10 to 100. It is a fun, player interactive game that can build lasting friendships and bridge any cultural barriers. There is a lot to learn about this game but, for now, join in the fun and see where The Web Of Shadows Holiday Quest takes you!

Step 2
The event starts out south of Falador at the portal located north-west of Port Sarim. There is a gift box icon on the mini-map in your game menu to show you where it is. As you approach the portal, things become darker and ominous. Steel yourself to enter Death's door!

Step 3
Once inside, seek out the Grim Reaper in his throne room to the north in the house. Speak to him and he will tell you that he has a problem he needs solved but he doesn't want to risk any of his regular staff. He wants YOU to take care of it for him. That's right - his problem is huge! His problem? He has a spider in his bathtub.

Step 4
The Grim Reaper wants you to go upstairs and get the spider out of the tub for him. It seems he is adverse to killing things before their time. Since his touch would certainly kill it, he needs you to handle it for him. Ok - how hard could it be? When you go upstairs to the bathroom, you see why his problem is huge - the spider fills the bathtub and then some!

Step 5
With minimal replies from the spider, she lets you know that the Queen of Spiders has assigned her to sit in the bathtub until the Queen says otherwise. Go back down to the Grim Reaper and inform him of this complication. He will open a portal to the Queen of Spider's realm so you can find out why she has imposed this order.

Step 6
Once through the portal, you will have to pass through two web puzzle mazes. The first gets a bit slippery as you make your way to the center ladder and is a random path for each player so you can't follow other players. The second is an agility maze leading to the center of the north wall - the ladder will take you to the Queen's Waiting Room.

Step 7
Talk to the Spider Herald in the center of the chamber. Once you tell him that the Lord of Death sent you, you can go right up to see the Queen in her bed chamber. She will tell you that Lord Grim Reaper has insulted her tremendously by having all the cobwebs swept from his home and she insists he remedy this situation. Speak to the Spider Herald before returning to the Grim Reaper so he can assign a cobweb maker assistant to you. A spider named Eek will be your companion.

Step 8
When you return to the Grim Reaper, tell him of the Queen Of Spider's terms. She will not recall her servant in the bathtub until the Reaper's house is once again covered with cobwebs. Grim immediately agrees due to an understanding between him and the Queen. You and Eek will have 64 places throughout the house - upstairs and downstairs - to cover. The message/dialogue box will keep track of how many you have finished and Eek will tell you how many are in each room. Hold Eek in your hand and click various items to cover them with cobwebs. (While in the south east room, entertain Muncher, the skeleton dog, a few times and then show Eek to the dog. Otherwise Eek won’t be able to put webs up for you.)

Step 9
Once you've finished webbing the entire house, go back to the Grim Reaper. He will send you back to the Queen of Spiders to let her know all has been done with his apologies. You’ll have the choice to go through the maze or go directly to the spider court.

Step 10
Speak to her. Eek speak up to report that all has been done as ordered. The Queen will give you a cape made of spider webs. Eek will asked to be allowed to go with you and the Queen charges you with his care and safety. The Web Of Shadows Quest is now complete.
