Make bird feeders out of a pine cone

In this article, You will learn how to make a simple bird feeder out of a pine cone and peanut butter. The birds of all kind will eat it. It's a good way to get all sorts of birds to come visit you and is great for bird watchers or photographers. I will show you step by step how to make a feeder out of 4 simple things. Then all you have to do is sit back and enjoy the beautiful birds.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • A pinecone
  • Smooth peanut butter
  • A bag of bird food or bread
  • String
  1. Step 1

First, Find a good size pinecone. Make sure it's not wet or deformed. Get all your ingrediants together. Make sure you get smooth peanut butter.

  2. Step 2

Next, Spread the peanut butter onto the pinecone with a knife or spoon but be careful not to break the pinecone. Put as much peanut butter as you can get on it. The more you put on it, the better the food will stick.

  3. Step 3

Then, pour the bird food into a bowl, or dish. Twirl the pinecone in the bird food until you have most of it covered with the food.

  4. Step 4

Lastly, Tie the string around the pinecone on the top end. Make sure it's tight enough to hold it. Find a good tree that you would like to tie it too. Again, make sure it's tight or it will fall off with a gust of wind or rain. Sit back and watch the show.

Tips & Warnings
  • The more peanut butter you use, the better the food will stay on it.
  • Get the kids involved in this project
  • Just make sure the food you use is for birds, some things will kill them!
