Dandruff shampoos are harsh on the scalp, and can actually worsen dandruff due to the irritation they can cause. The best way to treat dandruff is to deal with the scalp itself to treat the problem, not just the symptoms.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Massage a rosemary oil treatment in your scalp if you suffer from dandruff that involves lots of flaking. Massaging the below rosemary oil treatment into the scalp can help to prevent flaking and also help to increase circulation in the scalp. To make this treatment just add 3 drops of rosemary oil with a tablespoon of avocado oil.

  2. Step 2

Start taking Vitamin E oil in supplemental form if you've always suffered from a dry scalp. This helps to balance the oils on the scalp and help to prevent dandruff caused by a dry scalp.

  3. Step 3

Use a eucalyptus treatment if you suffer from itchy, dry scalp and dandruff. To make this treatment pour 1/4 cup of dried eucalyptus into a quart of boiling water and allow it to steep for 30 minutes. Strain the mixture then add 1 tablespoon of raw apple cider vinegar. Pour the mixture through the hair then let the hair air dry.
