Finding cheap books can be tough. To find out how to make sure you are getting the best price on books, follow this guide.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Time
  • Patience
  • Money
  • Internet
  1. Step 1

Decide whether you want to buy new or used books. You can save a significant amount of money by just opting to buy used. Many used books are in great condition anyway.

  2. Step 2

If you decide you would like to buy used, there are a lot of websites that will help you find the best deals. Amazon, Ebay, Barnes and Noble all sell used books. A good source to check is www.dealoz.com , they let you type in the book title and it will show you comparison prices. Always compare prices and make sure you are getting the best deal.

  3. Step 3

If you are buying new books, Dealoz will still help you find the best deal, use it. New books are sometimes on sale at bookstores in the clearance sections. You can save even more money if you subscribe to the store's e-mail list or coupons.

  4. Step 4

If you aren’t looking for any particular book, garage sales, thrift stores, libraries (check their websites, they should say when they are having big sales,) and school libraries are a goldmine. If you like a particular author, be sure to have a list of books you already own by them. No book is a good deal if you already own it.

Tips & Warnings
  • Be sure to check every available opportunity to save money.
  • Many public domain books are available to read free online. If you are buying a book for class, this may be an option.
