If you have a job that requires you to talk on the phone a lot, keeping your mouth moist with a soothing cough drop and/or water will help. Many times your larynx will get inflamed and give you sore throat symptoms.

During the day gargling with 6 ounces of warm water and a teaspoon of salt will minimize throat irritation.
