Soy Milk is fairly easy to make especially with a soymilk maker at home. If you want to reduce costs of buying it at the store this is a great alternative.

Things You'll Need:

  • Soymilk maker
  • soya beans or soybeans
  • water
  • Pan and cheesecloth
  1. Step 1

    The fastest and easiest way to make your own soy milk at home is to purchase a soy milk maker. They are available on line at stores like amazon and other web sites.

    With a soy milk maker you follow the directions and add soybeans and water to make soy milk quick and easy. You can also make rice milk and other things with some soy milk makers.

  2. Step 2

    Make soy milk with a standard soy milk maker.
    Add soybeans to filter cup
    Add filter to the machine head
    Place the machine head on the pitcher provided
    Press the start button to begin the soy milk making process
    Hot soy milk is ready in about 15 to 20 minutes depending on the machine.
    You can flavor soy milk to your taste.

    Basic Soy milk making...
    Add about 125 grams of whole soy or soya beans to make about 1 liter of milk.

    Soak and clean the soy beans overnight or for about 10-20 hours. If you want you can remove the hulls from the beans which will make the extraction process easier.

    Optional - Heat the beans - this will destroy the bean flavor. Microwave the wet soaked beans for about 2 minutes.

    Grind the soaked beans in and about 1 liter of water in a blender. Strain the mixture through a cloth (cheese or other. The tangible material that remains on the cloth is called okra and can be used to make bread and other things.

    Heat the soy milk in a large pan until it boils for approximately 5 to 10 minutes. After it is boiled the soy milk can be refrigerated for up to 3-5 days.

  • Flavor your soy milk with salt, fruit or other flavorings.
  • Make fruit smoothies and other treats with the milk.
  • Follow the directions carefully when making soy milk.
