Save Money and Have Fun with the Movie Roku

If you are a Netflix subscriber you are no stranger to how you can use your Netflix account as one of your preferred DVD rental clubs. What you may not be aware of is that you could view Netflix movies directly on your television by using the Roku box.

Using a wireless internet connection the Roku box accesses your Netflix account to pull in all of your movie queue. Simply click on the movie you'd like to watch. The Roku loads your choice and starts playing the movie on your TV. This means you are using Netflix for on line DVD rentals.

Instructions
  1. Step 1

    BUYING A ROKU DEVICE
Before you can begin to use this service you need to purchase a Roku box. Boxes can be purchased for around $100 from the Roku website www.roku.com. Although this cost may seem high, you are saving money by not having to rent movies. You also don't have to wait for your DVD rentals by mail.

  2. Step 2

    HOOKING UP THE ROKU
Once you've received your device, simply plug it in to your television. Using your wireless or wired internet connection your Roku will provide a device code. Login to your Netflix account. Within your account you will need to provide the Roku code to establish a communication between your account and the Roku.

  3. Step 3

    NETFLIX INSTANT QUEUE
The Roku cannot play all of the movies you have in your queue because it is limited to options that can be viewed online. Netflix has a wide array or movies, television shows, or musicals can that be viewed through online options. One you have located a movie you would like to view, click the "Add to Instant Queue" option. This way you are using internet movie rentals.

  4. Step 4

    USE YOUR ROKU
From the Roku device you will see the instant queue. Simply find the item you would like to play. Click the "Play" button on your Roku remote. Your television may temporarily display "Loading" and then begin to play this item.
