How to Make Personal Labels

Creating personal labels is an easy and fun activity. Making simple personal labels doesn't require expensive label-printing software. You can save money by creating your own personal labels with Microsoft Word, following these simple steps.

Instructions

    • 1

Buy your desired size of labels from an office supply store. Labels vary in size, with one sheet usually containing 30 or 60 labels.

    • 2

Insert a sheet of labels in your printer's manual feeder. Note the size of your labels on a separate piece of paper.

    • 3

Open a new Microsoft Word document.

    • 4

Click on "Tools." A drop-down list will appear. Scroll down the list.

    • 5

Click on "Letters and Mailing." Another drop-down list will appear. Scroll down the list.

    • 6

Click on "Envelopes and Labels." A window will appear, with two tabs: "Envelopes" and "Labels." Click on "Labels."

    • 7

Enter your personal label information in the "address" box of the window. For example, enter the following in the "address" box:

      Demand Studios
      ABC St.
      Good City, X State 00000

    • 8

Under the "Print" option found in the bottom of the window, choose "Full page of the same label," or "Single Label." With the "Single Label" option, you can select the number of rows or columns for your labels.

    • 9

Click on "Options," found on the right hand side of window. Scroll down and select the size of your label.

    • 10

Click "Print," which is found in the top right corner of the window. Your new personal labels will now print and be ready for use.

Tips & Warnings

  • Prior to printing on label stationery, run a test print on a regular piece of paper. This will ensure that the text and size of your personal information is correct.
