Talk with students in a college program. Most academic advisers and admission representatives at schools can connect you with students in the ultrasound technician program. This allows you to ask questions that advisers and admission representatives may not be able to answer. In addition, you may be able to sit on a class or two of the ultrasound tech program, which can give you a better idea if this is the right career and the right college for you.

5
Shadow a current ultrasound tech. To learn more about ultrasound techs, it can be beneficial to shadow one currently working in the field. This can often be arranged through the college or school you are interested in attending since it will have contacts with alumni in the field. The academic adviser or the coordinator of the ultrasound tech program should be able to connect you with a former student.
