How to Convert Marriott Rewards to Air Miles

If you're a member of Marriott's Rewards program, you already know that you can redeem some pretty cool rewards with your points, including extra perks and even a free night's stay at a Marriott hotel. However, some people are unaware that these reward points can also be redeemed for air miles and that Marriott makes it incredibly easy to do so. All you need to have is Internet access and a few minutes of time, and you can convert your Marriott Reward Points to Air Miles with a few clicks of the mouse.

Instructions

1. Go to Marriott's website at marriott.com and click on the gray "Marriott Rewards" link on the top right hand corner of the page. This will take you to the main homepage of the Marriott Rewards program.

2. Click on the "Use Marriott Rewards" link on the left navigation bar. From the drop-down menu that appears, click the "Travel & Leisure" link and then the "Air Mileage" link.

3. Scroll down the page to see all of your options. You will see a variety of air mileage rewards offered from various airlines, ranging from 1,500 miles to 50,000 miles.

4. Select the air miles reward you wish to redeem by clicking the blue "View" link found towards the left of the listed reward.

5. Look for the gray box that has the heading "Order this reward" at the top. Fill out the requested information in this box, including the quantity, the airline and your frequent flyer number.

6. Sign into your Marriott Rewards account on the next screen to complete your transaction. To do so, simply enter your email address and password and follow the on-screen instructions. Be sure to write down your confirmation number when the transaction is complete for proof of your redemption of the air miles.

Tips & Warnings

• Marriott may allow you to combine rewards with a spouse or domestic partner who also have a Marriott Rewards account.
• Note that it can take up to six weeks for your frequent flyer airline miles to be credited to your account unless you are willing to pay for an express service. Be sure to read through the terms and conditions carefully before redemption to avoid misunderstandings.
