How to Spray for Bugs on Apple Trees

Purchase apple spray from your local garden center or greenhouse. Bonide Orchard Spray works well and is readily available at most local garden centers.

Make sure that the spray bottle you will be using is empty and clean.

Put on your gardening gloves.

Open your bottle of orchard spray and pour it into the spray bottle. A funnel is useful to help prevent spilling, but it isn't necessary.

Thoroughly coat your apple tree with your Bonide spray. Ensure that the spray is evenly distributed throughout the apples, apple buds and apple leaves.

Leave on to dry. Do not rinse off. The scent of the orchard spray will continue to repel insects and help prevent decay.

Use several times during apple growth. Be sure to thoroughly saturate the apple tree before harvesting to help prevent decay and diseases such as black rot and apple scab.
